Selling Data

Basics

• To sell data, you need to sign up for an Infochimps account.

• Hosting and transfer are free up to 1GB.

• You set the price and license for the data.

• Infochimps makes a 50% commission on every sale.

• Checks are sent out monthly.

Create an account

Start here and sign up for an account, then agree to the Data Supplier Agreement to be able to sell data.

Uploading Datasets

After signing up for an account, you will be able to upload data directly to the site. First create a dataset by clicking the “Post Data” button in the top right, then click the “Upload Data” button on the Dataset’s page.

Security

Storage – Infochimps uses secure Amazon S3 buckets to protect your datasets.

Selling – After purchase, customers have a timed download to receive the data.
