Basics

• To sell data, you need to sign up for an Infochimps account.

• Hosting and transfer are free up to 1GB.

• You set the price and license for the data.

• Infochimps makes a 50% commission on every sale.

• Checks are sent out monthly.

Data Supplier Agreement

Complete and submit the Data Supplier Agreement to be able to sell data.

Uploading Datasets

Infochimps can receive datasets by email, FTP or upload. Then, all you need to do is provide us with a description and price list in an email, and we will get your data live on the site.

• email – If you have a reasonably sized dataset, you can email it to upload@infochimps.org. Please include as much descriptive material as possible: description, methodology, whitepapers, accompanying spreadsheets—anything that a customer might use or might want to know before buying.

• FTP – For larger datasets, email upload@infochimps.org for FTP instructions. Please include as much descriptive material as possible: description, methodology, whitepapers, accompanying spreadsheets—anything that a customer might use or might want to know before buying.

• Upload – This function will be active soon.

Note: You can only sell data after submitting the Data Supplier Agreement

Security

Storage – Infochimps uses secure Amazon S3 buckets to protect your datasets.

Selling – After purchase, customers have a timed download to receive the data.
