Share Data

Sharing data involves both curating datasets and uploading datasets. Both functions are only available to people who have signed up for an Infochimps account.

Curate Datasets

This function is provided for Infochimps members to fix mistakes, improve descriptions, and point to other sources with the aim of making datasets more comprehensive, discoverable, and useful.

To curate data, simply click the Edit Dataset button on the right-hand side of the page.

Upload Datasets

Infochimps can receive datasets by email, FTP or upload. Then, all you need to do is provide us with a description and price list in an email, and we will get your data live on the site.

• email – If you have a reasonably sized dataset, you can email it to upload@infochimps.org. Please include as much descriptive material as possible: description, methodology, whitepapers, accompanying spreadsheets—anything that a customer might use or might want to know before buying.

• FTP – For larger datasets, email upload@infochimps.org for FTP instructions. Please include as much descriptive material as possible: description, methodology, whitepapers, accompanying spreadsheets—anything that a customer might use or might want to know before buying.

• Upload – This function will be active soon.

Note: You can only share data after submitting the Data Supplier Agreement. This is necessary even for datasets that are free.
